A piece of advice that I'd give to current and prospective students is to do something because you love it and are fully invested in the journey, rather than the outcome.

Education

DPT, University of Mount Union
B.A., Psychology, Kean University

Location

Pueblo, Colorado (Current)

Atlantic City, New Jersey (Hometown)

Favorite Part of Being a DPT Student?

Mount Union's unconditional support from the faculty and staff was absolutely fantastic as well as the 30-seat class which made me feel like I was more than a student, and not a number like in other programs. As a graduate student I was also treated as a colleague, which enhanced my confidence, and enjoy my time in the physical therapy program. So, a piece of advice that I'd give to current and prospective students is to do something because you love it and are fully invested in the journey, rather than the outcome.

Finding Success after Graduation

I am the lead physical therapist at my outpatient clinic in Pueblo, Colorado. I love educating/treating my patients. Becoming a physical therapist was a goal of mine because as a first-generation Mexican American I grew up hearing about the healthcare unavailability in small towns in Mexico. I remember how my grandfather had to travel over 6-8 hours for specialized healthcare at times. So, now I can treat patients with similar issues, and it fills me with joy.
